Two Associations Merge for Ultimate Power Move!

Belize’s two powerhouse Real Estate Associations have decided to unite under one banner in a merger that’s set to change the industry forever! This merger, hailed as the ultimate unifying move for the sector, has everyone talking!

Hugo Moguel, the President of AREBB, dropped a bombshell today, declaring this merger a milestone in the industry’s growth, boldly calling it the “industry’s maturation.”

The highly-anticipated move, years in the making, got a major thumbs-up from none other than the office of the Prime Minister! Today, both association presidents met at Belmopan’s Sir Edney Cain building to sign a groundbreaking Memorandum of Understanding, birthing Belize’s one and only unified Real Estate Association.

Hugo Moguel, President, AREBB, was buzzing with excitement:
“This has been a long time coming, and we are beyond thrilled! This is a huge leap for our industry – a real evolution. It’s proof that our business has matured and that there’s immense value in having a united voice. Especially after the challenges of Covid, we’ve seen just how vital this industry is to the whole country. The new MOU between our two associations is the first step to becoming one powerful entity!”

Carlo Habet, President, BNAR, echoed the sentiment:
“Now, we have a unified, stronger voice! We can lobby more effectively for our members and finally pursue initiatives that have been stalled for way too long. With our resources combined, we’re looking at passing the Real Estate Bill, setting a higher standard for professionals in our field. And there’s more – an MLS is on the horizon, and we’re ready to roll out training programs for newbies and seasoned pros alike. It’s a fantastic day, and we’re ready to celebrate!”

Frik De Meyere, Partner, Boris Mannsfeld & Associates, chimed in on the explosive growth:
“The real estate sector has been booming, not just by a little but by massive leaps, both locally and in the tourism sector. We’re talking foreign investors snapping up vacation homes and booming local markets. More agents want in, and they’re all looking for guidance. This merger is about giving them a reliable place to learn and grow, ensuring the best service for everyone buying or selling property.”

Even Narda Garcia, CEO, Office of the Prime Minister, got in on the action, pledging full government support:
“The Economic Development Council and the Office of the Prime Minister are here to back you up! With the Real Estate Bill in the spotlight, we’re ready to support every initiative you have. It’s crucial for business and economic growth, and we’re on board all the way!”

This newly formed super association will now lead the charge in consulting on the upcoming Real Estate Bill, set to be passed by the Government of Belize in the next 6-12 months. This bill is expected to shake things up by introducing real estate licenses, promising a new era of professionalism for every agent across the country.

Stay tuned, Belize, because the real estate game just changed forever!
